How to read this remaster roster

Every card here is a named officer from the live characters hub, not a blank card. Filter by Wei, Wu, Shu, or Others when you are hunting a kingdom; use Demo when you only care who is in the Hulao Gate slice. Sort by name if you are matching a CV credit, or keep the force order if you are walking the page the way the official site is laid out. Forty-two portraits is enough that a picture grid beats a 42-row text table.

The hub does not publish per-officer weapons, musou strings, or growth tables for this remaster. What you can trust on each card is the English name, Japanese name, force, Japanese CV, whether the officer is in the Steam demo, whether first-party XL copy names them for a story, and whether they are the ORIGINS guest. If a stat is missing from that list, it is not on the official remaster pages either.

Wei and Wu on the 42-person list

Wei runs from Xiahou Dun through Cao Cao: Xiahou Dun, Dian Wei, Zhang He, Xu Zhu, Xiahou Yuan, Zhang Liao, Xu Huang, Zhenji, Sima Yi, and Cao Cao. Xiahou Dun is also in the Hulao Gate demo, which makes him the Wei officer you can actually try before 30 September 2026. Zhenji is the spelling on the official English cards.

Wu is Zhou Yu, Sun Shangxiang, Huang Gai, Taishi Ci, Gan Ning, Lu Xun, Lu Meng, Daqiao, Xiaoqiao, Sun Jian, Sun Ce, and Sun Quan. Zhou Yu and Sun Shangxiang are the Wu demo pair. Sun Jian, Sun Ce, and Sun Quan sit together as the family line; Daqiao and Xiaoqiao share the Qiao spelling used on the US hub. If you are coming from later numbered games, this is the DYNASTY WARRIORS 3-era Wu set plus the remaster portraits, not a DW8 or DW9 roster.

Zhang Liao and Xu Huang sit in Wei's later slots the way the original-era roster arranged them, not as DW8 DLC arrivals. Taishi Ci and Gan Ning give Wu its river-fight identities. If a later game taught you a different Wu order, ignore that order here: this page follows the remaster characters hub, including Daqiao and Xiaoqiao as separate cards.

Shu, Others, and the ORIGINS guest

Shu is Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, Jiang Wei, Pang Tong, Zhuge Liang, and Liu Bei. Zhao Yun and Guan Yu are the Shu demo pair, which matches the Hulao Gate fantasy of charging the gate from the coalition side. Pang Tong is present on this remaster list even though some later musou entries shuffle the Shu support cast.

Others holds Zhang Jiao, Diaochan, Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, Meng Huo, Zhurong, Fuxi, Nuwa, and Ziluan. Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao are the three XL stories named in Steam and hub copy. Ziluan is the traveling swordsman from DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS; the US hub is the source of that English bio. Fuxi and Nuwa remain the mythic pair from the original-era Others list.

Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, Jiang Wei, Zhuge Liang, and Liu Bei complete Shu without a secret extra. Dong Zhuo and Zhang Jiao sit in Others as the early-war pair. Diaochan is listed under that spelling. Zhurong is present even though only Meng Huo is named for an XL story. Fuxi and Nuwa close the mythic end of Others before Ziluan.

Demo six and named XL stories

The Hulao Gate demo playable set is Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Zhen Ji, Zhou Yu, and Sun Shangxiang. On this page Zhenji is the official card spelling; the Steam demo blurb writes Zhen Ji. Both refer to the same Wei officer. Those six are marked on the grid so you can jump from a portrait to Battle of Hulao Gate without scanning the whole 42.

Xtreme Legends added seven officer stories. Steam and hub text names Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao and does not name the other four, so those four do not get fake story badges here. Bodyguard editing, extra weapons, and four challenge modes are XL features described on Steam and the Japanese hub; they are not extra portraits. Japanese CV lines are useful when a trailer only shows a face. Open a portrait if you need the art at 1200px; close it with Escape or the close control. The overlay does not add a second copy of the image to the document for counting tricks. It enlarges the same official portrait already on the card.

Using the portrait grid

Forty-two unique remaster portraits are the reason this page is a picture index. Each card shows the official art, English name, force, and the demo / XL-story / ORIGINS badges that the hubs actually support. Open a portrait to enlarge that same still; you are not looking at a fan redraw. Force tabs stay above the grid so a phone screen does not hide Wei while you scroll Shu.

Count is 42, matching the characters hub, not the looser 'more than 40' store phrase. If you filter to Demo you should see six cards. If you filter to Others you should see Zhang Jiao through Ziluan. If a later patch adds an officer, that is a new official card, not something this grid will invent tonight.
